Jeff Conroy-Krutz is an associate professor of political science and a core faculty member of the African Studies Center at Michigan State University.
He has a PhD in political science from Columbia University and is editor of the Afrobarometer Working Papers Series. Dr. Conroy-Krutz’s research focuses on how media and access to political information in sub-Saharan Africa affect relationships between groups, tolerance, violence, citizenship, and voting behavior. He has conducted research on these topics in Burundi, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ghana, Kenya, Mali, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal, and Uganda.
He specializes in using experimental methods to evaluate the impact of media-based interventions. His work has been funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, BBC Media Action, US State Department, US Agency for International Development, and the Embassy of the Netherlands.
