After many years in the corporate world Maureen worked for a range of NGO’s, mainly in Johannesburg. When she was the Office & Admin Manager at the Land and Agriculture Policy Centre (LAPC) — responsible for Land Reform, Monitoring and Evaluation — she worked closely with Minister Derek Hanekom in the Government’s department of Land & Agriculture. During the transition process in the 90‘s Maureen became a key fund administrator when foreign donors had to reroute their support through the central government. She is an experienced events organiser, formerly at the helm of events and logistics for Transparency International SA. She was a key administrator for the Anti Corruption Summit as well as the Racism Summit. Maureen was the Events & Logistics Manager for the World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD). After the WSSD she joined Joburg Plus 10, an offshoot of this Conference. She has now moved back to the Mother City where she has been an administrator for Small Business.
